Ashton of Ashburn (Ashbourne) Derbyshire

The Ashtons of Ashbourne were making clocks in Ashbourne around the 1750s. Their family members also made clocks in Tideswell, Macclesfield, and Glossop. This clock is a fine example of Samuel Ashton II, work, with the rarer season brass spandrels, and a case crossbanded with bur walnut makes it a very attractive clock. Recently fully restored in our workshop it is ready for its next owners
